Name change with Land Registry

I am in the process of changing my name with the Land Registry due to marrying my partner. We own our property in shares as tenants in common. The shares only show on the TR1 which was in my previous name. The Land Registry have said I don't need to do anything about this, am I right in assuming that my marriage certificate will be kept on file and is the only thing to show that I am the same person on the TR1?

Yes - no need to do anythings.
If you sell, re-mortgage, transfer, or do anything else, just show the marriage certificate at that time to prove you are the same person.0 -
Hi they said I should change my name but I asked them what happens about the fact that the TR1 showing the share proportions will be in my old name and they didn't have an answer for me. I guess the marriage certificate copy on file will be the proof that I am the same person?0

If you think about it, there’s no difference between sending your documents to the LR to get the name changed now, or sending them to your solicitor when you sell your house..in either case same effect except the latter is less hassle.0 -

What about the 3 year rule, AnotherJoe?AnotherJoe wrote: »If you think about it, there’s no difference between sending your documents to the LR to get the name changed now, or sending them to your solicitor when you sell your house..in either case same effect except the latter is less hassle.
If documents (passport, driving licence, land registry, HMRC etc) are not updated within 3 years the marriage becomes null & void.0 -

Seriously?!! or are you having a laugh with me?
If you are that is NOT FUNNY - not when someone suffers with anxiety and that is the reason I am asking the question because I think very deeply about these things. 0 -
