Sorry if it's a stupid question. Had to order a new item from the catalogue and my dad said he will pay for it. He said he will do a standing order £35 per month for 12 months. Will i need to declare the money from him even though it's used to pay for my new item?

Your father is buying you a present - the money is nt even going through your bank account so I don't see why it would need to be declared?0

It's to my bank account and then will use the money to pay for it when my bill is due so it will show on my bank statements.0

Direct payment would avoid any questions, but I really don't think £35 per month appearing in your account for 12 months will cause any problems. You will have the statements from the catalogue and that can easily be matched to the money from your dad.0
