Recommendations for London Hotel

Hello
I'm looking to stay in London for one night on 24.2.18.
I'm getting a bit overwhelmed looking for hotels and I don't have a big budget.
I would like central as it's for a birthday present. I keep looking at chains but they are quite dear but all the other places look like dives.
Any personal suggestions?
Many thanks

Have you tried easy hotel?0

I also discovered "Hub by Premier Inn", which looks great - I don't need a big room...Being brave is going after your dreams head on0

Saturday nights in London tend to be more expensive than other nights. Have you looked at budget hotels like Premier Inn, Travelodge, Holiday Inn?0

Hub by premier inn are comfortable, and not too pricey. (Kings Cross and Tower Bridge ones are both around £115 for that night) Whereabouts in central London do you want to be?
I've stayed in IBIS and IBIS styles hotels - There's one about 5 mins walk from Earl's Court tube, if that's not too far out for you, and another near Victoria
I would avoid EasyHotel - I've seldom spent a more uncomfortable night.
There is a travelodge in Covent Garden and another in Southwark, not far from the Globe theatre, I've stayed in both and while they are basic they are perfectly comfortable and fairly affordable.
If you are willing to have something a bit more basic you could try the Indian YMCA in Fiztroy Sq - I've stayed there a few times and while it is a bit like being back in Halls of Residence, and very definitely no-frills, it's clean, quiet and friendly, and has single en suite rooms for around £65 incl. breakfast.
What is your budget? All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
There are often good last minute offers on voyage prive, the other day they had a hotel overlooking tower bridge for £50 per night, might be worth a look.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Holiday Inn Regents Park - rates vary for different nights of the week - around £118 on a Saturday plus taxes and fees on Holiday.com site that I used.
You might get it cheaper on another site though, I don't know.
Beds very comfortable - I had a twin room, very quiet - room 529, 5th floor.
Pay for the breakfast - about £6 in advance as it's a cooked buffet and there is loads of other stuff too, really excellent value for money and very good quality foods. I'm still missing the coffee machine!0 -
Hub by Premier Inn is a decent place to stay when in London. A friend of mine from abroad would always stay there when she visits.0
