post office lost claims

Thanks borosteve- I was just feeling a bit frustrated at every claim being dealt with differently and no explantion of why. TBH when I phoned postwatch she wasn't much better than Post office, but she had a very broad accent and I couldn't understand all of what she was saying. I'll try again next week.
We are also writing to them about one I got on friday that they won't pay because they say 32D doesn't exist, but 32 does, so IMO since the buyer received my replacement item 32D is a flat within 32 and no doubt the local postman knows.
I also had one on friday where I put on the info please do not pay in stamps as I had been told to do and guess what - yes they paid in stamps. That is relatively minor, but I do currently have over 6 books of first class stamps and my post office said I couldn't use them on parcels as they have no value on them! Someone else on another thread said put them on christmas cards, but I don't post that many Xmas cards - 10/15 tops.0 -

So from Soolin's post most of you are asked for proof of your purchase cost, because a while ago I had a long conversation with them about what they need and they said paypal invoice.
.
I have never been asked yet but from my acquaintances that also sell on ebay and/ot Amazon it seems to be a new thing. Maybe my losses are low enough to get 'under the wire' so to speak as I'm only losing about 1 package every 5-6 months at the moment rather than the 1 virtually every month that I used to get.
I have an outstanding claim at the moment, so I will wait to see if they contact me for more info and let you know.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. HI
I HAve had another back asking for proof of cost - for this all I can provide is a till receipt - bargain shops are great.
I have had an awful lot of lost items recently - probably why they have decided to ask for proof of cost suddenly.
If they are going to do this then if they refunded fees and postage paid - they won't refund me this due to the way our PO works. I wouldn't have a problem, but why should we be out of pocket because they 'lose' items.
Soolin what happened on your item?0 -
I can' t update on my claim as I have still heard nothing at all, maybe I ought to think about chasing it up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
