I’ve just read your new thread as couldn’t find your diary. I can’t believe this has been happening to people. Please don’t stop posting. Surely the tech team can get the diaries back when you consider that nothing is supposed to be permanently deleted in the tech world.

Sorry your diary has gone too Cumbria. Maybe the way forward is to start a new diary every so often. I hope you don't stop posting. We need to show these spammers we're not easily defeated or they've won.
Oh heck Cumbria Lass, sorry this has happened to you but please don't stop posting. I would so miss your contributions to this site!

Don't give up because of spammers or hackers or whatever the reason behind the issues is. If necessary start a new diary and consider it a re-energising/ re-focusing of your journey out of/ or staying out of debt.

I totally agree. Don't let the spammers win. What sad pathetic people they are who have nothing better to do with their time .

I'm sure the tech people will win the war eventually, even if they are losing a few battles.

We would miss your updates if you leave Cumbria :(.

It isn't spammers that are doing this, it's TROLLS.
It appears to be that there is an orchestrated series of malicious attacks being carried out on the forum.
I am sure the Forum Team are doing everything that they can to try and protect it. However, remember, most of the Forum Team are volunteers and are members of the forums like ourselves. Against experienced hackers and trolls their defenses are limited.
The IT team are the ones who can put systems in place to better protect and deter the hackers and trolls.
Don't stop posting folks as this is just a phase, these kind of attackers move on after a while and I'm sure given time the lost threads could be re-instated.

I know I have been quite vocal myself about this issue and have publicly criticized the team for what appeared to be lack of action. Thanks to more knowledgeable and experienced folks than I in the IT sector I now have a better understanding of what the Team here are up against.
Changes will be made to the set up of the forum.
There is a mahoosive battle going on for the forum in the background that we are not fully aware of and unfortunately folks threads and diaries are the casualties.
If you can, back up your diary page by page to an external storage device.
You can save html data for each page of your diary by right clicking within the grey border areas and choosing / Left clicking on "Save as..." then saving it as "Webpage, complete..." in the folder or file of your choosing... been informed that this makes it easier to restore in the event it disappears.

Keep on posting, please, don't give in

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.
