How has the state giving anybody thier wealth.

I thought as I posted it surely no-one can question that, but I bet someone will!
By providing them education, a stable safe country in which they can earn money, economic policies that have allowed huge rises in the value of houses, the legal framework that allows you to own a piece of land. Not suggesting anyone hasn’t worked hard for what they have, but they couldn’t have done it without the state.

That’s a ridiculous argument. The state provides them things to enable it to function and are of benefit to everybody. What do you call a huge rise in real terms the my house has increased about 80% since 1985 the interest I paid over term loan was 100% of sum I borrowed.

There's a fundamental Left-Right split on the nature and purpose of the State.

Well exactly, so how is it ridiculous?! It needs money to function in that way and could not without taxing us! We all have to chip in otherwise we don't have those benefits.

I accept taxes and to some extent inheritance tax, people who acquired wealth will have paid as much tax probably more than someone who has not. Not only does tax have to be fair it’s has to be perceived as fair.

I agree, only intended to make the point on the principle of why the state is entitled to a share.

Because the state has effectively given you (or allowed you to earn) the wealth

Ah, the classic Parasite's Creed. What I can't make I take, what I can't take I destroy, and what I couldn't destroy I take the credit for.
