ESA and Changing Address?

Hello,

I am wanting to move into social housing and worried sick about any reassessment because of it.

I have had no contact with DWP for about three years and I am in wrag.

I have been on ESA for years with mental health issues.

I live in a full service UC area - UC since may 2017.

Will I be reassessed?

Moving should not trigger a reassessment but they can reassess you at any time if they wish. So if you were called for reassessment then it would just be a coincidence.

Have you not been attending work focussed interview? Other than your work capability assessment (medical) did you ever have a meeting at the Job Centre about helping you into work?

One other thing. Have you applied for social housing with the same council? If you have applied to another council then this will trigger a move to Universal Credit.

How far advanced are you with your move into social housing?

    Thanks for a reply.

they called me in for interview a few years ago but I was badly stressed so they phoned me a couple of times after that gave me a couple of mental health numbers to ring and left me to it.

My money never changed so I'm not on SG as far as I know.

It's a bit different to the council, a separate group. They move tenants onto UC I think.I don't want to name them on here and I wonder if I'm doing the right thing, but isn't it inevitable?

If I go on UC then at least I'll be in a nicer pad allbeit much worse off money wise.

They have my bank details and I filled a form in about how I spend money- bills etc what I spend on sweets, newspapers lottery tickets etc, and I viewed a property and I'm due to view another in a few days when a tenancy ends.

It does not matter who 'runs' the property. If you are currently receiving housing benefit from such a such a local authority if you still claim HB from the samelocal authority (when you move) then you should not have to change to Universal Credit. It is a simple change of a address and recalculation of your HB.

    Good luck!
