Wallpaper removed - no plasterboard - help!

Hi

In the process of redecorating a new property we have removed wallpaper from one of the rooms and there is no plasterboard/ drywall. Instead t alpears to be a concrete wall. The wall is oerfectly smooth save for a few screw holes.

How do we prepare the wall to paint with emulsion?

Many thanks

  • If it's an older house, it won't have plasterboard, it probably dates back to a time when houses were built properly with plastered brick or blockwork.
Just flat it off, mist coat if needed, and paint it.

It's a 1960s build. As i say the wall is perfectly smooth save for a few screw holes that need to be filled.

Is a mist coat the same as primer or can you just use a white emulsion as an undercoat?

50/50 mix of emulsion and water.

Indeed, confusion over a proper wall!

When I read the title I had visions of wallpaper hung across upright 2 by 4's! :rotfl:

I wish houses all had proper walls, not that flimsy plasterboard rubbish.
