Evening all
I was wondering if any MSE'ers had booked a trip with srprs.me, if you did what were your thoughts?
If you've never had heard of them you book a 3/4/5 night break with them, but don't finding out where your going until you arrived at them airport. The cost includes flights and hotels or hostel and you can list a few places you don't want to go. They do give you weather updates just before you leave so you can pack.
I'm super tempted to book a trip in May as I really like this idea, but all the reviews I can find seem to be from bloggers/journalists who got their trips supplied. So I thought I'd turn to mse.

I've heard of them but not been brave enough to book yet - subscribed in case anyone comes along with a story!0

Hi. Know this is an old-ish post, but wanted to reply. We went on our first srprs.me trip in June and it was wonderful. And we immediately booked another one with friends for October.
The build up is really exciting and you learn that all that prep (I love to do) in advance makes very little difference. It makes you feel more open to whatever comes along rather than having a list of things to tick off.
And price can be reasonable. We really played the options for our second trip (price is recalculated when you add each parameter). Things like including more than one airport reduced the price. So got a 3 night trip with flights for £175 pp. But mostly the reason to try it is that you feel like a kid before Christmas as the time approaches. Priceless.0 -
Do they at least tell you the country? Otherwise, what happens about people who might need to get visas?
Thoroughly bad idea IMHO.0 -
You don't know the country, but the main offer is a trip in Europe, so you shouldn't need a visa with most passports. They offer an outside Europe option and I assume they make other arrangements, including giving a letter to your doctor for jabs without telling you the destination. You also don't know the currency, but it's fairly easy to get hold of. We have a Halifax Mastercard (a MSE recommendation) which works well to pay directly or withdraw cash.0

Looks like a bit of free advertising to me.0

Bad idea. It is always cheaper to DIY.
October price falls for flights should be kicking in soonish, bargains to be had.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I’ve just taken a look at the site out of curiosity, and it seems really expensive or what it is, even if it was in expensive cities, but let’s be honest, there model will be flogging the leftover seats/rooms which is why you find out at the last minute, so should really be a cheap last min break, not sure how they justify the premium price they’re charging.

A bit like the old " Allocation on arrival " that a lot of tour operators used, that said at least you knew where you were going destination wise.0
