Estate agent won't inform vendor of our offer

    I had a situation where I had an independent broker and the estate agents would not accept an offer from him. I had previously seen their in house person (basically because they wouldn't take no for an answer) and I think she was telling them it was a no go (because she didn't have the same deal from the bank). So I went to my bank directly and the mortgage guy at the bank rang them with the offer clearly saying that they would lend me the money (at which point the in house person screamed and shouted at him, but finally they had to accept my offer...only for me later to be gazumped). I hope your experience will not be a horrific as mine was. But, if you get into a similar scenario, I would suggest going directly to the bank as they really can't argue with them if they say they are willing to lend you the money. Best of luck :)
