TSB account update time - week-ends

Hello
I am expecting one payment due on Monday - we are Sunday: I read somewhere else online that payments at TSB were shown on the account on the Sunday before between 12 and 14.00. This is not the case, but this information dates back a while (and in particular, before the TSB/Lloyd's split).

Does anybody have more up to date information? In particular, the payment I am expecting is made from a new source, so I am worried if there was any issue with the payment in itself?

Not sure if the Sunday 12-14:00 thing was ever true, however I know some banks (NatWest and Barclays being two) changed crediting recently. They used to credit Monday payments on Saturday. They will now credit funds the day they are due e.g. Monday not the weekend. So you'll likely receive it on time on Monday, if it was sent at all by the sender.

Hey - thanks for this. Hopefully it will be the case. I did not know about the change! Yes maybe TSB did too.

The payment was made because it came from my father and he confirmed he had done it. After it is just a case of is there any other issue with it such as wrong acct number or I don't know.

Will wait tomorrow and let you know.

When was it sent? By what method?...SO?, FP?, future dated FP?, BACS Direct Credit?

TSB, like Lloyds, only pay Monday's payments on Monday and I've never known them to arrive early.

However, if it's a payment from another person (your father) it would almost certainly be sent by Faster Payments, in which case it should arrive the same day it was sent. Unless the person sending it has postdated it to be sent on Monday, in which case it won't arrive until Monday.

Hello all!


Sorry for the delay, I had some issues logging in to post back this morning.


Finally, my pending payment was updated between 8am and 9.15am this morning (Monday). The payment was made from my father from an account in France, which normally is made same day, except he did it Friday after the cut off, so was pending for Monday.


On a weekday, my TSB account is updating of any pending payment, including those, but also BACS or any non fast payments, on the day before at 12.30pm (i.e. half past midnight).


Fast payments were impacting my old Natwest account within a few minutes, regardless of whether it was past working hours or in the week-end. Not sure if it is the same for TSB.


Hope it clarifies and maybe help other people too!
