new house supplier query

Hi
just moved house a few days. Supplier was Sky to previous owners.

Am I committed to stay with Sky or can i call up any supplier?

    Unlike gas / electricity where there is a deemed initial supplier, TV, BB, phone you can choose whom ever you wish.

    You can use whoever you like, but if the previous occupant hasn't advised Sky that they were leaving that address, there may be a delay getting your service, as a letter probably has to be sent to your address ( but for the previous occupant) saying someone (you) wants to take over the line...if that letter goes unanswered ( which it should ) then after a while ( 10 days I think it is) the line can be taken over by whatever company you have picked to provide your service
  • You can go anywhere you like as the contract is not yours

    i don't know the original landline number of the house, will that cause me a problem if trying to sign up with a new provider online?
