Not renewing Insurance fee £55

My car insurance with Quote Me Happy runs out next month.

I have gone online to ensure the policy is not renewed as otherwise its renewed automatically (i.e. cancel the policy) as this years quote is to expensive.

They have said there is a £55 fee for this.

Surely that isn't right ??

Thank you for any help

what does it say in your T+C???

Letting the policy lapse usually shouldn't cost anything

Its says there is a fee to cancel it.

However I don't want to cancel it i just do not want to renew it which I guess is the same.

Its the £55 fee which I don't consider is reasonable.

You don't need to cancel the policy because you want it to run to the end. You need to cancel the auto-renewal. It's not the same thing.

I suggest phoning them to cancel the auto renewal. You don't want to cancel the policy (which is what the charge will be for).
