Downloading Music & Windows Media 11

Hi everyone,
Am new to posting here so I'll say sorry now incase this post is in the wrong place. About a month or so back - I learnt to download music from various websites and used to listen on my MP3 player. But now my PC has upated to the window media verison 11 - I can not now save these files. I have gone mad looking for help on the microsoft site and cant find anything.
Basically - please help/advise as to how I can save music to be played later on. Play list dont work as they only save the short cut to the website and the music doesnt sit on my C drive. Hope i make sense!!!!
cheers

I think I get it, your old version of Media Player used to download the music you were streaming to your computer, where you used to retrieve it and listen to it as and when you wanted.

Alternative way to do this kind of thing is to install: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ here's the manual to how it works: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ After you've read that, go read this: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&item=lame-mp3

A brief explanation of what you'll need to do, Open Audacity, select 'wave' from the drop down list, visit website playing music quickly press the RED 'record' button in Audacity. Music stops, press the YELLOW 'Stop' button in audacity to stop the recording of the music you're listening too. Then File\Save As... choose mp3 if you've not installed the mp3 codec it will ask where it is. You can then lable the music and it will be where you saved it too on your harddrive.

Alternatively, goto youtube like everyone else and use one or more of the programs listed here: http://www.snapfiles.com/downloadfind.php?action=s&st=youtube&search.x=0&search.y=0

    HTH
It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.
