    The fact that you didn't have a ticket (even though you had no way of getting one) won't help with any redress.

    If you had a ticket there would have been some form of contractual relationship to hang a claim on - without it you were just a potential client who didn't turn into reality.

    By all means complain - but don't expect much if anything.

    You could make a last ditch attempt. Send a photocopy of the receipt keeping one for yourself. Also attatch a copy of proof of delivery of the original receipt. I don't know if you have any legal grounds to point out that they have accepted liability, and you give them say 28 days to make some kind of recompense or you will take them to court. Then it's up to you whether you go ahead and pay the £30 or so for small claims court costs, but I don't know for certain if you have a case or not as you chose to take the taxi.

    My guess is they'll respond more readily to the threat of court action than a phone call.

    Find the same taxi driver, or company, and ask for a duplicate reciept. A duplicate reciept is still going to be valid proof of purchase.

    Failing that send your photocopies of the reciept stapled to the letter.
