I had a loan with clydesdale bank between 2005 to 2008. Unfortunately I have no papers, however by bank, first direct, has been able to supply me with, bank statements from January 2007 to August 2007, where is clearly shown monthly payments made to Clydesdale bank. Now I have sent in a request to Clydesdale bank, however they replied to me, stating that they have no record of me having a loan with them ever. Now, I spoke to them over the phone, and what they are saying, is that, they can check as far as 2005 however they cannon trace me in their system, and that's it, despite, acknowledging my bank statements as genuine. Does anyone know what would be the next step in this situation? Many thanks,
Roberto

If you dont believe them then you can spend £10 and do a data subject access request. That will require the bank to supply all of its relevant records to you. If its not on any of those then you know they are telling the truth. Sometimes they do through up information though.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thank for your reply, however, it sounds a little strange to me. What Clydesdale bank said to me is the following: we can check our records as far as 2000 for everyone, who had a loan or other services with us. However we have no record of your loan with us. So is it just my record which has gone missing? They also said, if you had a loan with us it would be on record?0
