CICA - appeal or not .

My niece had to get 30 stitches around her eye after a criminal act . No point in suing guy as he has no money . He is up in court in march .
Anyway i applied to cica for compensation around 9 month's ago and sent pictures of scarring etc .
She is 21 . Today i received offer of £11,000 . Do you think i should appeal and ask for more . According to letter money offered may go up or down depending on who looks at appeal case .
They say they have guidelines to work with and they have offered a fair settlement . She did not have any wage loss so no compensation for that she just needs to wear scar for rest of her life .
I hear stories about people appealling and getting more .
Although £11,000 seems quite a good offer . Undecided what to do .

Not sure what this has to do with savings and investments?
Also, why are you claiming compensation when it’s your niece who had been scarred for life not you? It. Should be up to her to claim for compensation and also whether to appeal or not. For what it’s worth, if I was the niece I’d take the money and not pursue it further. Yes, scarring to the face can cause emotional distress but can also be covered up to some extent with make up and probably not worth a great deal of compensation.0 -
Money would be invested so savings forum is right place . Also I am her representative saving the price of a lawyer .
Thanks for your info on make-up .0 -
