No, every letter is not a LBC (or LBCCC).

But you would rather repeat "check the newbie thread" countless times instead of letting someone else answer?
Very few here would reply any differently, even when KeithP gave you the answer, he suggested you should read the sticky.

Also, every reply might be read by ten or more lurking newbies, who have not yet posted, so it's a way of signposting whoever is reading the thread to read the sticky. To stop unnecessary threads ad infinitum.

  • Can anyone direct me to where I can find the answer to the difference between an LBA/LBC and the appeal rejection letter I received that states they will pass to a debt recovery agency and likely proceed with court action please?

    http://www.parking-prankster.com/letter-before-action.html

Compare that to post #4 of the NEWBIES thread which explains what debt collector letters are (trash!).

  • Ok thanks. Have read that thread again. Still not that clear, but guess I've used my questions allowance.

I didn't the people here that are supposedly helpful, to have the same mentality as those dishing out the parking fines.
Thanks anyway. Sure you all meant well!

Might I suggest that the forum is set up so newbies can't post until they have signed a disclaimer that they have read the newbie post. And only then can only start a new thread once they have passed a quiz to ensure they are familiar with all acronyms and can prove they have read and understood the newbie post in great detail.
I'm sure that would save you all so much time that could be spent helping people you deem worthy of your help.

I haven't mentioned it to the gym as I've never seen the owner there, and don;t think the staff would be much help or care. I will mention it to one of them when I'm next there on Monday.

Can I respectfully suggest that you try something a bit more formal that "mentioning it when you're next there"?

Seeking out the manager/owner, or he can't be found, make an appointment to see him.

You mention 'the owner'. Does that imply that it is not part of a chain?
If it is a chain, an email to head office may work wonders.

Who owns the space that you actually parked in?
Could they be convinced to intervene?
Looks like they may be the gym's landlords, so may have an interest in keeping their tenants, the gym, and the gym's customers, happy.

The gym is part of a chain (Energie Fitness), that rent space in a large complex that includes the car park, which is managed by PCM ltd. I will try and email their head office.

    Thank you.

I read that and it appears to me that you aren't really interested in killing this.

    "I will try..."
In my humble opinion, more conviction will be needed.

It took me 10secs it identify Energie Fitness's contact us webpage.

The Chairman & Chief Executive of The Energie Group is on Linkedin.
  • I have emailed them.

Have you thought of getting a job as a parking warden? I think you would fit right in.

Isn't every letter relating to a parking fine a "Letter Before County Court Claim"?

Sorry couldn't find the answer in the newbie thread. Hope I dont get banned?

A Letter Before Claim is a formal legal document required before court action can be commenced. It’s required contents are laid out in The Civil Procedures Rules.

Failure to follow the correct format of an LBC can, in some instances, result in a claim being thrown out.

An appeal rejection letter will be of minor interest to a court.

No. I don't know why you think that.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you do. I'm out.
