Energy switch credit refund

Hi all, I'm new here.

I have just switched my energy from Co-op to Avro; due to complete on 27th Feb. I currently have £350 credit with Co-op, are they likely to refund this automatically, or should I request it back now? I'm aware that the amount will likely change slightly depending on my usage over the next month.

I want to be sure to get my money back!

Thanks!

You'll get a final bill from the old supplier, usually within 6 weeks of the actual switch date.

That should tell you what will happen to any money owed to you, or what you need to do about any money you still owe the supplier.

I would request a refund of a big chunk of this - say £300 - asap. At least this will be in your bank. The actual final bill will be sometime in April and it will be May/June before you get the final credit.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

    Hi,

I'm in the same boat! Switched to Bulb back on January 2nd.
Rang Coop yesterday as my account was about £400 in credit.

If you pay by Direct Debit, it's all done automatically. But it will take a while. They said my final bill will be calculated on Monday (29th Jan) deducted from my credit and returned to my bank account automatically just after.

So if you're switching on 27th Feb, the remaining credit (after final bill) should be returned I'd guess by approx 1st April.

    Hope that helps!
