Samsung A3 bought from Carphonewarehouse

Last week I bought a Samsung A3 2017 phone from the Carphoneware house, got to the till and it was 279.99. Thought it was a bit expensive but thought nothing of it. Got home to search there website it was on there for 229.99! £50 cheaper so I rung up CS to see what they say and said instore and online prices can very. I asked if I can return the phone and they said no! Iv not even opened it yet. Anyone know where I stand with this? Not a big deal but its the principle.

If you looked on their website and it was £50 more would you have gone back and paid them the difference?

Went home ordered online and collected in store the next day
Didn't get the one they had in stock they sent another one overnight
