just think yourself lucky YOU are not paying the true price of prepayment meters .They are subsidised down in price and have been for many years.
The rest of us are paying extra for the high risk unreliable payers who put their energy bills below their smartphone monthly bills.

Don't forget that smart meters are in effect prepayment meters and have the same function in the meter to close the supply and have already done so for some in credit mode. These will require the same maintenance when the supply shuts off.

The best advice is to wait for the SMETS2 upgrade if you want to go down this route. Its your choice and weigh up the options carefully.

I decided to stay with my supplier because of the known/unknown problems that may arise form this install and how another supplier would support a meter that they do not supply.

The meter reader revisited here so hopefully this will revert to prepayment shortly.interestingly although I am using around 90p a day gas the monthly usage is showing £170 for gas so obviously there are bugs' in this system in the display.

Prepay is better for many thse days instead of a large bill.watching an inhome display and bills mounting will only serve to boost this method.
