With Netmeter you monitor how much you use daily, weekly and monthly.

It also gives a predicted usage for the month.
    Move along, nothing to see.

I use bitmeter http://www.tucows.com/preview/407722 which is similar. When installed you right click and click on 'isp restrictions'. You can tell it what date your month begins, what the restrictions are and when to notify you. ie. at 75%. It then tells you how much your are uploading/downloading how many days left, quota remaining etc. (remember it is usually an uploading/downloading limit - if you are into filesharing you can often upload more than you download and both of them count)

  • Unless someone else is using your wireless network to torrent, I doubt you use 90GB, thats 1 full quality DVD every 2 days, or 5 full quality albums per day, or 1000's of mp3's/month. Most adsl connections wont let you get anywhere near that level of download in a month. 40GB limit is enough for most people apart from the heaviest of torrenters.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

i refused to go with bt bb, cause they had a 2gb limit. so i went for aol.
i reckon to use summat like 4/8gb per month.

my son who DL,s a lot of stuff used 33gb (ntl bb) last month!

    so 90gb is hellava lot.
i too, doubt that you used so much.

He's lying. :) I doubt if you use 9 GB monthly.

My girlfriend regularly watches streamed TV programmes, though rarely goes over 4GB per month.
  • Thanks for all your replies everyone i feel alot better about changing the broadband now, thanks
