Trying to apply SADFART to a TV

I have had a Toshiba tv stop working after 18 months. I went straight to the retailer and they pointed me to the manufacturer.

I emailed their head office and they pointed me to the manufacturer eventhough, within the email I mentioned '...last A Reasonable amount of Time.'
I cannot seem to get the Model Number and Serial Number to work on the manufacturers site

I have not got the receipt but a family member has looked at the bank statement and have proof of purchase there.

What is my next step please?
Is it, reply to the email saying why am I seeing that 'you' should be sorting it out and not the manufacturer? Or, have i left it too late to make any sort of claim for a repair?

1. Your contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer so one assumes that you are trying to use the warranty?

2. If so what does the warranty say?

3. If you are trying to use your legal rights then as it's over 6 months old you need to prove that is a inherent fault, so you will need an engineer's report that proves that it was a manufacturing fault then you can claim from the retailer.

Was the relative looking at your bank statements? Or did they pay for it?
