Are unrecognised soft searches something to be anxious about?

I've just checked Noddle, and there are several searches showing from 24 January, categorised variously as ID checks, quotation searches and general insurance. I've got similar soft searches showing up on my Experian report, for the same date, although nothing on Clearscore.
The searches look like the sort of thing that you might get when you go onto comparison websites to get quotes for car or home insurance, which I definitely haven't done in ages. I did get a few emails the other day from comparison websites telling me that one of my insurances is due soon (which is true), so is it possible that they've done these searches in anticipation of me using them again this year to find insurance quotes?
This has made me look a bit more closely at my reports in general, and there's a search on Clearscore from October that I don't recognise (totallymoney.com, 2 searches for a credit quotation). I've never heard of totallymoney, and wouldn't have been looking for credit at the time, although I was browsing new mobile phone contracts and changing utilities.
I realise these are probably all soft searches and so don't have an impact on my file, but I don't like seeing unexpected things on my credit report and wanted to check to make sure it's not indicative of a problem that I need to sort out!

If you agreed for the comparison sites to look for quotes for you when you insurance is due for renewal then it could be because of this0

There’s no need to worry in the respect that no one but you can see them. I get these quite often, usually generic ID checks, insurance quotes or, as on yours, credit quotations. Sometimes they are from companies I have a relationship with, sometimes not.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

But if you don't have a relationship with a company, how come they've got permission to look at your file, assuming you didn't give it somehow or other?0 -

I just read up on Onfido. What a thoroughly grubby little company.0
