Moved house - Scottish Power dragging their feet

We moved into a new house at the start of December. Apparently Scottish Power are the energy supplier. We have been in touch over the phone six times now and still haven't received any kind of info pack - we've been promised one and offered lots of apologies but that's it. What's bugging me is that we're most likely on their standard rate (i.e. expensive) and - due to the time of year - have probably used a disproportionate amount of fuel to heat/power the house.
I've decided I'm going to write to them now and send it via recorded delivery - I can't seem to find any templates online for this kind of thing. Can anyone with more sense/experience than me give me any pointers on what I should be including? TIA.

If you have not agreed another tariff, you will be on the supplier's most expensive variable tariff!
Did you not request a better tariff when you called them to register?
It would be applied from the date you requested it.
Better still, once you registered by phone, have you consulted a comparison site to find the best possible deal for you from the whole of market, rather than just from your existing supplier?0 -
Why do you want a "PACK". You are presumably registered. Log in online the SP website is not bad. You can then choose a SP tarrif if you want a better one without tasking to confusing people who will not offer you the best "online" tarrifs.
Or move to someone else, at which point not signing up for a tarrif will have been a benefit to you.0 -
There's nothing stopping you switching suppliers - you've done the right thing and rung them up and given them opening readings.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

You don't need a template to complain, just write a letter and head it Complaint
Just like that - BIG & BOLD
Scot Power are not the most efficientsupplier, they had a botched software a few years ago and despite fixes there are holes customers still fall into
Apparently they are your supplier ?
Unless you are absolutely sure, it's worth Googling "Who is my Gas/ Elec supplier" - This will give you phone Nos. for the national data base for Gas meters and the regional data base for Elec meters - These hold records of who supplies every meter - Be aware that the phone Nos. are Premium Rate0 -

Be particularly cautious of any site that comes up offering theses services via Premium Rate phone numbers
You do not need to use any Premium Rate phone numbers to access these services

Footy guy - That's the thing - for the first three calls, they wouldn't even acknowledge that we were registered so we couldn't get anywhere. It's so frustrating. I didn't know I could ask for another tariff to be backdated onto the account so I will give that another try for what it's worth. They told me I couldn't do anything until they'd sent me this 'welcome pack' which was to be completed and returned before they could set up an account. They told that we couldn't make any changes to the tariff until we had an account and we can't get an account without completing the welcome pack.
I seem to be going around in circles and I'm getting dizzy!0 -

They won't let us register, online or otherwise, until we complete and return the 'welcome pack' via snail mail/. So frustrating. Keep being told "5-7 working days" over and over and the flipping thing never gets here.0 -

Yep, they are the supplier, vendor of house said so and SP have (finally) acknowledged this over the phone. However, when this rigmarole is finally sorted, I suspect they won't be our supplier for much longer - or indeed ever again!0 -

We can't switch until we've an account - we can't get an account until we've completed and returned a 'welcome pack' that never arrives... DH reckons they're run from a shed up in the remote highlands

As they are a Spanish owned company shed may not be north of the border .0
