The TomTom website says:
GET 50 MILES OF NAVIGATION FOR FREE EACH MONTH
Every month the app gives you up to 50 miles of navigation for free, after which you can purchase a 1-month or 1-year subscription with unlimited miles.
I think they will have already thought of the supposed uninstall/reinstall way of attempting to avoid payment...0 -
what does tomtom offer over the free options?"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

Exactly - Try one of the free ones - there are many
You've even got a free one built into Android - Google Maps
this can work off line too, so no data charges0 -

The new driving test uses a TomTom 52 for the independent driving section although I accept that I could use an alternative product, I was thinking that it would be far, far better to use a similarTomtom product when teaching my son to drive.
Thanks
PS im assuming the tomtom go app will be similar in look and feel to a 'real tomtom0 -
surprised the dept of transport didn't go with apple maps. the public sector like their apple products"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

50 miles free per month is just the right amount for me. Pity it does not carry over every month but if it did I can't see many people buying it.0

Ah, 'per month' - that suits this situation perfectly fine.
My mistake for not spotting the per month bit as the app just says x miles left.
And I didnt even spot it in the early reply by John Gray so apologies.
Thanks to all that took the time to reply.0
