National Insurance contributions

I am currently self employed and just done my self assessment It’s asking me to pay £299 tax and over £500 Ni contributions both class 2 and 4 my question is I have accrued 38 years of full NI contributions.. enough for my pension... do I still need to pay this NI bill? Thanks for any help
