Has anyone got any tips on a new hoover?
Budget £200 max really.... my home is mainly carpet and I have a car who sheds fur so needs to be versatile enough to manage this.
Someone recommended shark as a brand? There’s a couple of their hoovers in my budget but I’m not sure if any good as they have so many!
I want an upright ideally

I can recommend a HENRY or HETTY(she's a pink Henry).
They are around £100 and are fantastic, thats why most schools/shops/businesses use them.
I have had mine for years and apart from replacing the filter and bags, and the pipe but thats because I shut it in a door and cracked it, I've had no probs at all. The bags are super cheap on amazon/ebay and replacement parts are also super cheap if you need them, the new pipe cost me £6.99 including postage.
hope this helps :-)Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less! £196,000/£177560 to go0 -
As a fellow cat owner I can highly recommend the Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog. We previously had two Dysons that were rubbish for picking up pet hair ... even with the turbo brush.Norn Iron Club Member 330

Henry, but get the advanced one, it has a brush on itmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You could always change the car, but any of the Mieles tend to get good reviews from pet owners.....Lisa090982 wrote: »I have a car who sheds fur so needs to be versatile enough to manage this.
They make a well-regarded upright too, but it's pricey.0 -

I would recommend a Shark too - we had Dysons for years and noticed the quality going downhill. A family member recommended a Shark and we are astounded at how good it is. My daughter suffers from dust allergies and it's made a massive difference in our house. We got ours in the sale at Curry's - it was £300 reduced to £200 but I know you can get a decent Shark upright for about the £200 mark. You won't regret it.
I wouldn't even consider another vacuum brand at the moment.0 -
I wouldn't but a Hoover
Dyson or Miele would be my choice0 -
Get an upright Sebo X1/X4 or a Dyson-you can get a very good refurb for under £200.
PS: I mean an original Dyson, not the flimsy ball models: anything up to the DC14 is OK.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Seconding the Sebo; my neighbour thinks it's an antique but it still works after all these years.
Love the car, Davesnave, love it. :rotfl:0
