Beware of one called The Joint Project. It says you may need to wait up to five minutes before starting the study, while others also log in; after nearly 15 minutes of sitting staring at "Please wait" I returned it.

Just had a reply saying:Dear Participants, I really don't know what happen. I wasn't me who created to session and I don't know why it started alone. I will contact Prolific to understand how to handle this. Best regards, RafaelI suppose I can understand an occasional episode of "I wasn't me"!

Great result. Over what time period was that?#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660 -
Online challange
Hosted by Ricardo Santiago Araujo£0.88 6 mins £7.68/hr 0 places remainingDid anyone else have a problem with this one? There were no explicit attention checks that I can recall, and I completed the study in good faith - the main part involved guessing the percentage of orange dots in a box full of orange and blue dots - but was told at the end that I'd failed attention checks. I suspect they've just decided that anyone who didn't reach a certain level of accuracy in the task can't have been paying attention, but that doesn't seem fair as I might have just not been very good at the task.Anyway I've told Prolific and also messaged the researcher, and we'll see what happens.0 -

I had exactly the same - pretty sure there weren't any attention checks so will also be following up although they kicked me out before I got as far as any orange or blue dots.
Glad it's not just me as I wondered if I'd missed the bleeding obvious. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I returned this one when I was part of the way through it. I realised I had missed at least one attention check. There were attractiveness ratings and every so often it would say not to use the slider but to click on the picture of the person. I only noticed that after a while as I was concentrating on the pictures and the sliders not on reading the text which I reasonably assumed would be the same throughout the task. I realised I must have missed one or two of them so I decided to abandon it.2 -
I have just completed the study. There were two attention checks - in both cases, the majority of dots were clearly blue, but I was told to select orange. I completed the study with no problems.

That seems an unfair attention check to me when you are concentrating on the picture as you've been asked to do. Not impressed by that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
