  • Webcam eye-tracking study "dov"

This has been on my prolific for hours!
  • Business consultancy study

    Hosted by tamu.edu
    £0.63 32 minutes £1.14/hr 0 places remaining

Despite this being very poorly paying, I decided to go ahead with it hoping it would take less time than stated but in fact  it took 5-10 minutes longer and was quite laborious and repetitive. Even more annoying is that when I submitted I found that I was timed out despite only a few minutes over the suggested time. I have complained to both the Researcher and Prolific.

Anyone else unfortunate to have tried this study?
  • I had the same message and reported it to Prolific saying that it wasnt my fault the researcher didnt set their study up properly. I have been paid for it today
Thanks i have also been paid for it.
  • Observing actions of humans, robots and objects (09)

    Hosted by hull.ac.uk
    £0.8414 minutes £3.48/hr -1 place remaining
I timed out as it took me almost an hour and the time limit was 44 mins.  Contacted researcher who paid me but expressed my concerns to prolific about the time taken.
I wouldn't have minded but it was boring as hell :)
  • Hi, I’ve just signed up with Prolific, could I ask how long it took for you to get your first study? Thanks

It depends on which studies are available, and whether they match your profile.  Make sure that you have filled out your About You section in its entirety, or you will not get offered anything.
Very few studies will involve e-mail invitations (although a few will) so you will have to keep an eye on the web site;  I have the Studies page open in a tab all the time in Firefox, and it displays a number on the tab when one or more surveys have appeared;  and you can also install an extension which will watch for studies and notify you by pop-up when one is available, although three times out of four there are no places left or it isn't appropriate for you.
Don't worry about the studies whose details are posted here;  if you do not get offered the study personally, it is because you don't match what the researchers are looking for.
  • Great, thanks for your help!

    Yes - I did!
I was so angry, it took ages, and I was timed out.
I also complained to the researcher - have heard nothing from them.
The only reason I have remembered now is because I've been invited to do the same survey again.
Same low rate of £0.78 for "10 minutes" - it actually took me over 45 minutes!
