I did the study - it's the second time I have been presented with it.  I did 120 or so questions, which took around ten minutes (it had estimated 7 minutes when I started, but seemed to adjust that as time went by), and then got bored.  You have to click the End button after answering a calculation, not instead of doing so.  If you don't, it will go on ad infinitum (the opening instructions warn of this).

I tried it both instead of answering a question, and when that didn't work I also pressed it after answering but it just pressed me for a correct answer.  Anyway, I returned it with a complaint.  Even if it had functioned properly, 30p for that length of study was just laughable.

It sounds to me like they were deliberately offering a low payment for a study that (had it worked correctly) could be completed very quickly - by just pressing "End" at a very early stage - in order to see how long people would go on for, in spite of the low payment, in the hopes of getting the £5 bonus. Even with a working "End" button, I'd say the ethics of that are rather dubious.
<edit> I just got this study myself; looks like they're only offering a £2 bonus now (and strongly implying that you need to do at least 40 questions to be in with a chance of it). I could only be bothered to do a couple of maths questions; I'm not playing their stupid mind game for an unknown probability of winning £2. But given the overall time it took me, I would say on the basis of £5/hour that the 30p payment is only enough to cover the debrief questions (plus reading the instructions at the start), and doesn't cover any of the time spent answering maths questions at all.

    Math Mental Calculations Study

Did anyone do this? I was absolutely fuming with it - for a start, look at the paltry pay.  I only took part because it said they would award a £5 bonus to the top 5 performing entrants.  It promised that you could click end at any time and there was an End button, but clicking it did absolutely nothing.  I proceeded through 100 maths questions before giving up and returning the study.  Have reported it but very unhappy with the way it was presented.

I did this one last month. I did all the calculations hoping for a decent bonus. I just checked my submissions and noted that I got an enormous bonus of £0.10. Rather craftily the study I did stated "In this study, you will be solving math problems by doing mental calculations. The top participants in this study would stand a chance to receive bonus rewards."

I realised after a few minutes it was too easy and could go on forever so I ended it pretty quickly.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Thanks for the warning people this popped up for me and I passed on it although I did notice the hourly rate and estimated time has changed.

Despite returning the study, I got paid the 30p for it this morning - no response to my complaint as yet though...
