I've had it a few times over the time I've been a member. Sometimes it's a penny extra, sometimes it's a penny less; I assume it works out about even. My guess would be that researchers specify their payment in terms of the amount per hour, rather than the absolute amount, so it rounds to the nearest penny - and that when you cash out, it's calculated slightly differently. Maybe the balance is calculated by rounding each individual payment before summing them, while the cash out is calculated by first summing the exact payments and then rounding the result. Something like that, anyway.

Something strange is happening when I cash out to PayPal from Prolific. Each time I ask for a redemption, I am getting 1p extra !
Is this happening for other people?
It's caused by a currency conversion. Some of the studies are paid in $ which don't translate to an exact pound/penny. The system displays your total rounded down to the nearest penny, but presumably when paying out in rounds up.

Hi does anyone have the instructions to set up the browser alert for when new surveys come up?
I also haven't had any surveys for a week, but have found i could be logged in but get sent an email to say there are spaces on  a study running that i am eligible for and needs more participants, but there is nothing on the studies tab and i have to go specifically through the email. By which time its full.
