I had this one and I couldn’t get it to load, tried it on my iPad and it wouldn’t load from that either so I returned the survey.
Exactly the same happened to me, the survey wouldn’t load at all, so I returned it and also messaged the researcher.Don't wait for the storm to pass

Same for me with above study, website wouldn’t load at all. Messaged researcher but no reply and gave up after 15 mins and returned it.0

I had exactly the same problem but I absolutely refused to return it! I started to think that it might be one of those sneaky studies that try and make you give up, like with the 'Lab of Misfits' one. I finally figured out you had to manually enter the url to get it to work and I was able to complete it with no problem. I'm still not sure if there was a genuine problem or if the researcher was trying to trick us...0

Hmm.Dear all,Many thanks for your interest in the study and to those of you who completed it.
It appears there is an error if there is an s after http in the url.
If you are still interested in participating, please could you try accessing the study at:
http://iam-research.manchester.ac.uk/device-use
I am very sorry for the inconvenience and stress this may have caused.
Many Thanks
Madeleine Steeds
<edit> I decided to do this one anyway, as I had nothing better to do and it did ask for my Prolific ID at the start. But I got stuck a short way in when it wouldn't proceed to the next page, but kept repeating the same task over and over again. Sent a message to the researcher explaining this problem, then noticed that in the meantime another message had arrived saying the study was now closed.
Since then another one has arrived apologising for the problems and saying that everyone who completed the study and entered their Prolific ID at the start will be compensated. Doesn't help me, though, for the time I wasted trying to do it in good faith.

Me too but I didn't get the promised notification of the bonus paymentNor did I - I don't know what the criteria were to receive it either.I didn't get notice of this survey till after 3:00pm with only 173 places remaining. Looks like some are more favoured than others.:rotfl:
One of the questions asked if you would like to donate some or all of the bonus to a charity. I said no, as I'm not doing surveys for charity (I'll donate to who I want, when I want), so I presume I will get the £1 bonus.:money:
I believe I "donated" 70p and thought people would donate around 60p?
Just got this study:
Quick Study
Hosted by Brooke Gazdag
£0.908 minutes £6.75/hr 162 places remaining
First, you will be asked some questions about yourself (i.e., personality and demographics). Second, you will have a written task and word search task. Third, you will read a scenario and be asked to make some decisions regarding work arrangements.
I reserved a place, pressed start now and the link you get sent to says survey expired! Argh!Single woman doing it on my own... First house bought June 2021!
Mortgage end date: 2041. Goal: Anything less!

I struggled to get through even when i did it manually. Some Studies on Prolific just don't work out i guess. REF to study where URL didn't work.
All of my returns have been messed up by researchers.
I have been using prolific for a few months now and have noticed it is not easy getting studies. Either you will be extremely lucky to snap one of it will be a study that requires loads of participants. Those who are able to get studies easier i guess are participant who are on their computer majority of the time.0 -

In contrast, I've been a Prolific member for just shy of a month and have cashed out £23, with a further £5 recently added that was pending review. This is all from having my laptop on some evenings and at weekends (I do a full time job so occasionally check it at lunchtimes).
I think I read somewhere (maybe this thread!) that Prolific is quieter during academic holidays. Nonetheless, I generally find the studies more interesting and rewarding than elsewhere.
Now Populus, on the other hand...I get maybe one a fortnight if that....0 -
I've had a few longer well paying studies lately but haven't been able to do any of them. They've either been when I've been heading out for work, or the last one was at 1 am at a time when I wasn't going to crank up the laptop and spend an hour on a study.
I do wonder why researchers choose to have their studies going out at stupid o'clock.
Populus has gone right downhill for me as well, of late. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I had that Device Use study. Could not get it to load so returned it. Then got the email with the link in. The link worked fine. I did quite a few pages filling in answers and then it said the link was broken!
I emailed the researcher saying I was not amused.0 -
