Just had an email inviting me to a survey "Stop and Search Law and Black Men". On clicking, the description specified that participants should be black men, and since I am white and identified as such in my Prolific profile, it left me scratching my head as to why I'd been invited to it. Not the first time I've had a study pop up that the description revealed I wasn't eligible for, but the first time I've been explicitly invited to one by email. I think some researchers aren't filling in their eligibility requirements correctly.

I think half the researchers who use Prolific know less about their software than we do, tbh. Some of them are incorrigible.0

Yes, I did the male equivalent one. Annoyingly, the first page of the survey stated the payment would be £2.50 (and specified £6/hour), although the description was as above (£2.20, £5.28/hr), and indeed that's how much I got for it.
Anyway got paid straight away.0 -
Just had a reply to my query about the Paris survey one we were turfed out of:
The researcher was attempting to screen for individuals who were not weekly users of the Paris transit system, and did so by targeting individuals who are not currently residing in France. This does not quite violate our screening policies, because participants not residing in France should not be using the transit system on a weekly basis. However, there was some confusion in the wording used by the researcher at the beginning of the study, so it was not very clear to participants that the screening question was about weekly usage (as opposed to ever having used the Paris transit system).
We apologise that you have not receive the reward for this study, but we have "Returned" your rejected submission so your Prolific reputation has not been penalised in any way. We have also advised them on a better approach for future studies. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

There is also promise of a "bonus payment" but I didn't get any notification of this; maybe I am not enough of a philanthropist!0
