I spent well over an hour doing it, did an Inquisit section of it, then it didn't redirect either to the rest of the study or to the completion code. I've messaged the researcher but not sure if it was a problem my end or not :S

I did this one and got confused after the first Inquisit bit. It went back to the Inquisit download page that prompted me to install the player again. I hit cancel and was ready to give up on it, but then Inquisit opened a second time and gave me a new test to do.

The study completed after I finished that, with absolutely no questions about the 6000 word essay it made me read. So given how confusingly it was implemented I'd say the fault is definitely at the researcher's end.

If you wait for emails you'll never get any studies. You need to be checking the site regularly through the day and grabbing them if they come up. And (depending on your situation) setting up alerts. Alerts don't work for me because I'm out and about all day but some people find them handy.

How do I set up alerts? I can't see any options for this on the site itself so I'm guessing it's a browser extension or something. I keep the site open in a tab while working but I think I'm missing out on some studies as it's hard to notice when the tab title changes to Prolific (1) for a new study. And if I do catch it the study is usually full by then.

    Or the site has crashed.

Ahh, sounds like it wasn't just me that had a problem then! Fingers crossed payment comes through no trouble :)

After sod all studies for the last couple of months, I've had £11-worth today alone

I got booted out of a £3.45 one for inconsistency with the pre-screening questions. :(
Not sure what that was as I do give honest answers. Unless I hit the wrong box by mistake.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Browser extension. There's a discussion about which one to use earlier in the thread somewhere.

I've finished the survey, but it is not allowing me to submit it. I've tried both entering the completion code and submitting without the code. Both ways are bounced back with the following error in a dialog box popping up:

An action, complete, was requested that is not permitted for a submission in state AWAITING REVIEW. Only the following actions are permitted: return, approve, reject

Should I choose to return the study and then notify the researchers manually of the completion?

Edit: Okay, I refreshed the screen (F5) and then the completion code went through :)
