I just did this, ended up with a balance of -£1,100 :rotfl:
Which would be less of an issue if it didnt impact on my pay - I'm a little miffed there was no feedback or evidence of things I did wrong to end up with an amount like that...to me it seems like a cheap way of paying less to be honest.
That said, on Prolific it says £4 - so surely they cant pay you less then that? Unless they reject it and give you a bonus, which would be strange.Debt: May 15: £17335 Jul 16: £13874 Jan 17: £11,606 Dec 18: £8,308 Sept 19: £4,969 Jul 21: £890

I got carried away and gave the wrong answer to an attention check
so returned it rather than get a rejection
Why didnt you just say you realise you had made the error? That you know you have made the error would show youve paid attention, surely?Debt: May 15: £17335 Jul 16: £13874 Jan 17: £11,606 Dec 18: £8,308 Sept 19: £4,969 Jul 21: £890

The above study stated something along the lines of "if you finish with a balance near zero, you will receive £4.00, if you finish with a negative balance, you will receive a payment of £2.75 and if you have a positive balance (or something along those lines) you will receive a payment of £1.25".
I finished with a balance of nearly £60.00 on their game and got told I will receive a payment of £4.06. I will see what I end up getting paid but I'm fairly sure I did the tasks 100% correctly each game so I am tempted to query why exactly I didn't qualify for the bonus £1.25 if it comes to it0 -

Oh, maybe my balance is closer to zero then :rotfl: I will see what they say their parameters had to be to get the extra £1.25 though (I'm feeling greedy)0 -
mike did you get the task of writing strings of letters backwards? I'm wondering if it was actually all the same or some elements were random to end up that much in a deficit0

Lord knows to be honest, I thought I did the first few right, then got disheartened and purposely put in some wrong answers - which had minimal impact on the amount I earnt.
I initially thought it might be something to do with the impact of being told your **** all the time and how that would impact on your accuracy. Guess we will see. But crickey it was a boring task.Debt: May 15: £17335 Jul 16: £13874 Jan 17: £11,606 Dec 18: £8,308 Sept 19: £4,969 Jul 21: £890

I also did that study and my task was also entering strings backwards. I didn't make that much effort, only completed 3-6 per round, but still got about £175 surplus each time which didn't relate much to how many I'd completed. My final payment was about £5 so I think there was some trickery going on. In the debrief it said something about the objective being to see how different people react to being under financial pressure so the tasks may have just been a smokescreen. I'm also confused how they'll pay less than £4 - they should have made £2.75 the guaranteed amount and awarded the rest in bonuses.0 -
Have any of you noticed that your pending balance figure and the total of surveys 'Awaiting Review' are different by 1p?
I spotted this a while ago and following cashout both figures were correct. For the sake of 1p I ignored it but today I've had a survey approved that was paying £1.14 but the confirmation email told me I'd been paid £1.13.
I've now got £5.22 at awaiting review but my pending shows £5.21
It's not something that's exclusive to the new site either.

I have queried this a few times and am always told the reason is "minor discrepancies between currency exchange rates". I have pointed out the time to take those into account is before "rewards" are posted. For instance, I have been paid 49p for a study advertising a 50p reward on several occasions. Yet another example of PA's inefficiency at best or sharp practices at worst, imho.
I agree with the poster who said they might spend a little less time on self-promotion on social media and a little more on making sure their site actually works.0
