Just wondering, what is anyone else doing with the $ money in their PayPal account? I was saving it up for my new phone, which I'd intending buying from China, so pay in USD, but bought it from the UK in the end (£). PayPal exchange rate is about 3-4% lower than reality, but I'm not sure what else I'm going to buy in dollars, and I have quite a chunk there now.
Just wondered how other people were dealing with it?
(For tax purposes, I cash out monthly, and convert $to£ with HMRC published rates)

I put on my tax return what I actually receive from Paypal after their hefty conversion rates, rather than what I would have liked to receive!1

I just cash out in £ and grit my teeth and mutter about the appalling conversion rate everytime!1

I'm self-employed and just count it as part of my regular sole trader income (based on the actual £ that PayPal gives me when I send it to my bank account - which I do usually when I have $50 or more in there). I have a few regular bills that are paid automatically through PayPal but they will only use the sterling balance (when I have one) and not any dollars I have in there - so I calculate the £ and the $ from Prolific separately for my tax return to make sure it's accurate.1

I wonder if there is a way of transferring from PayPal to say Wise or Revolut for a better exchange rate?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've been a member of Prolific for several years and have been happy with the extra money I've made. Today when I went to check if there were any studies for me a screen showed up asking me to verify my ID. It wants a picture of my driving licence and a selfie. I'm a little suspicious as I've never been asked for it before. Has anyone else had this message? It seems they use Onfido for verification. Thank you.0

I had to send them some sort of ID for tax purposes. Can’t remember what it was now though. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1
