I also find some studies difficult not because they are intellectually challenging, but because they are overlong and tedious, or the sort where you have to try and spot flashing lights at the edge of the screen which I hate.  It is such an ambiguous question!

The weird thing is, after clicking "Refresh" on that pop-up numerous times and noticing no difference, I tried clicking "Later" instead, and am now noticing changes. Perhaps they've got their buttons the wrong way round.
The specific changes I've noticed are:
    1) At the end of a study, instead of asking whether everything went well in the study it asks me to rate how difficult I found it on a 5-point scale. It says something like "We'll use your feedback to align you with future studies," which I suspect means you might get fewer of the type of studies you rate as more difficult.
    2) When cancelling participation in a study there are now a lot fewer options for the reason for cancellation - not including, for example, technical problems or no longer being interested in taking part.
Yes, I've noticed the 5-point rating this afternoon too. Annoyingly, it comes up both at the end of the study (where it just used to ask if everything worked OK) and then again when you get back to the main page where the completion code is input!

Is anyone having any problems being timed out when trying to reserve a place on a study? It started a few weeks ago on my laptop by only giving me a few seconds to start a study before telling me my reservation had been cancelled. It's now spread to my phone, where I was getting about 20 seconds before, now it's timing me out after 2 seconds.
Can anyone tell me how long they get a study reserved for, from going into it to starting it. Mine was 20 seconds, but seems to have gone down to 2 or 3.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean? The reservation period is 10 minutes, but sometimes if the study is full or they can only run a certain number at a time, the reservation fails. Is that what you mean by 2, 3 or 20 seconds?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I mean after you click on 'Take part in this study' and before you click 'Start study', thats the time that you have the study reserved for. When I first started doing them I got 10 minutes, but I've noticed this has come down to 20 seconds, but the last few weeks every study I have tried has timed me out after 2 or 3 seconds, and given me the message ' Sorry you didn't start the study in time, your reservation has been cancelled'.

No, I’m not getting that at all. I was late starting one yesterday because someone came to the door and it still let me in after eight minutes.
I think I would maybe contact prolific to raise the issue. Or possibly try a different browser to see if that makes a difference?

Thanks. It does sound like its an issue with my account then. I did send a message on the contact form when it first started happening, but got no reply. I'll try again. I use Chrome so don't think it will be the browser.

Did anyone else get rejected from this one?  I did, completed in 9 mins, average was 13 and intended was 20 mins.  From memory the questions were very easy, straightforward and repetitive and I am a quick reader so didn't cause me any issues.  I'm confident I answered everything carefully and no differently to any other study I've done.

Just logged in to prolific and a box pops up to enter my place of birth! Needed for tax reasons according to the link. Very odd. Even more odd is that it seems to be UK place names only and some of the Welsh places are listed in Welsh and some in English.

Has anyone contacted Prolific recently, and if so, how long did they take to get back to you beyond the automated e-mail that gives you the conversation number?
