How do I view missed Payment? I ha e one but no idea what it is!
A missed payment is a credit file marker, which indicates to a lender that the debtor has defaulted on a scheduled payment for their credit account.
Depending on how you have managed your credit in the past, markers of this nature can have a serious impact on your future applications for credit. Lenders view this as a negative factor.
You can view this marker on your credit file through one of the credit reference agencies. These can be either Experian, Equifax or CallCredit.
Please be aware; different creditors report to different credit reference agencies, therefore I recommend finding out which one your lender uses and then proceeding to either start a free trial, signup to Noodle (free of charge) or make a payment of £2 for a statutory credit report.
Your credit report is an accurate snapshot of your credit file, which shows your credit accounts and how they have been managed, this will show the missed payment in your case.Advice provided from this account does not consist of any professional knowledge. Hi tbarson1,
To see any missed payments, you'll need to open up your Credit Report in the club.
Once opened, look under "Credit Accounts" to show a list of all your accounts.
You'll then need to select the "Expand all" button to open all the account details. You'll then need to look through each account. Successful payments are indicated with a green tick and missed payments will have either a number in yellow or a red exclamation mark. Like this:
Once you have located the missed payment, if you feel this is incorrect you can raise a dispute to Experian through the club via the "Need Some Help?" button (also shown in the screenshot above).
If you click through the options, you’ll be able to raise an online query and send this through to Experian.
Experian will then look into this with the lender or organisation who provides it with this record. This can take a little while to investigate, but you should hear back from Experian to your registered Credit Club email address within 28 days.
I hope this helps.0
