New Bank Tart - Recommendations for "mule" or dummy account?

Options
Hello experts,

I have decided to jump on the Bank Tarting band wagon to try and generate enough to take the kids to Disneyland Paris :-)

I think i get it, and plan to be super organised but just wondering if anyone can recommend a plain old vanilla account to open to start using for switching that doesn't run the risk of excluding me from future incentives? Are there any providers that never offer incentives?

Thanks!

The best bet is likely to be to open a second account at your current bank, as this is likely to be relatively painless in terms of ID verification, etc, but also, as you're already a customer anyway, you wouldn't be disadvantaging yourself in terms of ruling out potential future incentives.

And the usual caveat to posts referring to 'mule' accounts: it's inadvisable to use that term as it has money-laundering connotations way beyond what MSE seemed to consider when they started bandying it around carelessly....

I echo eskbanker's comments. If you don't want to use your existing bank then Barclays are the one bank that never seem to do switching offers.... although you never know when that might change.

I'd also echo the point about not using the term "mule". It is easy to get into the habit of using the word and then one day saying it to someone who may misunderstand what you mean. You don't want anyone to think you have anything to do with 'mules' when it comes to money. :(

I use Natwest. I've found them to be the easiest and quickest to open a second account with, and they aren't my main bank, so I wouldn't mind if they no longer wanted me as a customer.

Their switching bonus also included existing customers (as does Halifax's) which means I wasn't precluded from that when they offered it too.
