Health Ins

Hello I've just looked at Leisure Guard Lite and it says this...

You must contact the medical emergency assistance team as soon as possible before incurring expenses over £500.

How in the world do you do that when you've just been involved in a bad accident and all you want is immediate medical attention and to be taken to hospital?

Does that mean should you be taken to a private hospital they will not now payout because they are using this as a get out claus?

Comments

  • If you go into the actual policy wording then you find this:
Costs above £500 not authorised by us will not be covered. If you are physically unable to contact us, someone else must contact us on your behalf as soon as practicably possible
So providing that there is a reasonable explanation for not contacting them immediately, I can't see that they could refuse to pay out due to lack of contact.
