I have about 550 on my Ebay account and 100% rating/feedback..

I think the point was most people would use their common sense on the odd negative. I don't expect people I buy from to all have 100% or even 95%

Just ignore him. Its a month old and sold as seen. If he wants the rights of something new. Then go buy it new from a high street name or on line from a company.

Not sure how long you can leave feedback for but if he left negative on mine I would return the compliment.

The buyer ought from the seller though, not the company.

But he is complaining about a manufacturing fault is he not. That it will not lift the authorised weight.

60 days to leave feedback. As for "return[ing] the compliment" you can't. A seller can not leave negative or neutral feedback.

Shows how long ago I sold something. So you can no longer leave a comment??

Either way most people don't care about the odd negative among hundreds. It's a % game.

A workmate had a buyer leave negative to spoil hes 100%. Messages went back and fro to that effect............no problem she purchased something for a couple of pound in return a month later and did the same. Childish but it made me smile how people guard their 100%. lol

So if I buy a faulty CD from Tesco you would expect me to complain to the manufacturer and not just take it back to Tesco for a refund or replacement to which I am legally due?

makes me smile as well that some sellers would stoop to this and risk being banned completely by ebay over a single neg feedback.

OP if this is past 30 days after delivery estimate (delivery estimate as per the original listing so not impacted by a collection ) then there is nothing buyer can do on ebay. As he paid cash that means you are safe from paypal as well. So assuming you are well into the month after sale the buyer only has recourse to law , and that is a very rare step for a buyer to take.

Means nothing. We are talking about something purchased second hand, sold as seen from a private individually. The law is not interested.
