MSE One Select Error

Hi all
In the meantime, we've taken a look into this.
It looks like for some reason One Select isn't including the £25 per fuel dual fuel discount in the personal projection cost on its site. I'm not sure why it wouldn't include this - it has asked us to add this into the tariff on Cheap Energy Club.
From the checks we've run we haven't spotted any unit rate errors, but please do email us with your postcode if you see any other discrepancies.

Yes, there does indeed appear to be an error on the MSE CEC for this tariff in this area (and perhaps others) based on the historical calculation method
The error would appear to stem from the application of the dual fuel discount.
The OneSelect - Secure 1 Year Fixed January 18 has a dual fuel discount of £25 per fuel, so a total of £50 pa
It would appear the CEC is applying a dual fuel discount of £50 per fuel
Hi Footguy
It looks like our posts crossed. When I check that region I'm finding a £50 difference between CEC and OneSelect, so the correct application of the £25 per fuel difference.

There is indeed a £50 difference between what CEC is showing and what OneSelect is showing.
But that is because I suspect the CEC is applying £50 per fuel discount, rather than £50 in total discount (£25 per fuel)
Using the OP's figures.
Standing charge:
365 x 25.851p = £94.36
Double that as each fuel has the same standing charge = £188.71
Gas consumption:
10221 x 2.749p = £280.98
Electricity consumption:
1571 x 12.055p = £189.38
Sub-total = £659.07
Less the dual fuel discount:
£50 total (£25 per fuel) = £609.07 (as shown on the One Select website)
MSE shows £559 (i.e another £50 less)0 -
Hi all
Thanks for flagging this. We've raised with MoneySuperMarket who provide the rates to Cheap Energy Club who have now corrected this keying error.0 -

This morning I have had e-mail confirmation from EDF that should I switch I WILL be charged £70 in exit fees. I am interested to know if anyone receives a different response.
I was looking at this too, as I switched in Sept 2017and would be interested in the energy club 9 switch but probably not worth the exit fees of £70, how can they charge when you are staying with themThanks to all who post comps

Many suppliers do apply exit fees to transfer changes. Indeed, I am having this conversation with Zog. My feeling is that it is a short-sighted policy which may have a counter effect to what is intended over the longer term. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. F.A.O Dan L . I have had an approaching acrimonious exchange of emails with EDF Customer Services. I referred to the "guidance" MSE has apparently received from EDF regarding exit fees/ bundled tariffs etc. Despite this, the gist of their replies is to keep regurgitating the exit fees T and C on my current Simply Fixed September 18 and that should I switch to ANY other tariff(obviously including Simply Fixed March 20.) I will be charged £35 per fuel exit fees. I have given up. Needless to say I will be leaving EDF at the first exit fee free opportunity.Hi Reciprocater
The guidance we've had from EDF around this it that the exit fees will depend on if you've got a bundled tariff. If you do e.g. you get Amazon Prime, Amazon Echo or a smart thermostat - and you want to switch to this deal, you will be charged any exit fees on your current deal, unless you're within the last 49 days of your tariff.
Hope that helps.0 -

Hi Reciprocater
Thanks for your post. Frustratingly we've had a few comments along these lines and have flagged the issues back to EDF to get clarification. We've been reassured that the exit fees for this tariff only apply for those bundled tariffs. It seems EDF is tightening up on the 'tariff-hopping' exit fee rules, but that this time around they shouldn't be charged in your scenario.
