Fresh plaster - how many mist coats?

    Could someone please tell me why the mist coat I've applied (80:20 in accordance with manufacturers instructions) is wiping off? Do I have to clean it all off and start again? Sorry to hijack someone elses thread but I've not had much luck on my own post.

    Where is it? In a cold environment? How long are you leaving it to dry?

    It's our hall, stairs, landing & bedroom, no, not particularly cold. It was a thin skim and left for several days so it was totally dry.
