Exterior Rendering Advice

I'm looking to get the exterior of my kitchen rendered after a small side-return extension. The builders have left it with a sand and cement finish but not to a completed stage.
We were recommended K–Rend by the builders (as it's waterproof) and are currently trying to find applicators. Some of the quotes I'm getting in seem quite high @ £2500 labour only for a small mid terrace kitchen exterior.
I was wondering what other good rendering options are out there. We'd like a mid grey colour and the glass frames are black so it has a slightly modern / contemporary look and feel.
Thanks.
