downshifted - don't know if you have seen this https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/jan/21/nigel-slater-haggis-recipes ? I thought the scallop dish sounded lovely0

I had a super haggis starter in a restaurant in Edinburgh. They'd used one of those cheffy rings to make a stack with a layer of mashed swede, layer of haggis and a layer of potato. It was simple but effective and attractive. I'm sure you could do something similar with a pastry cutter.0

I have a haggis also and I can see I'm going to have to take own advice and get some Drsmbuie in!0 -
Another vote for Balmoral chicken. I actually bought it as a prepared dish some years ago from Waitrose.
How about rumbledethumps as a veg?0 -
So in the end we had haggis to start, a bit like this http://www.redonline.co.uk/food/recipes/haggis-neeps-tattie-stack I served it with whisky sauce. Then Scottish salmon wrapped in Parma ham with duchesse neeps and tatties & romanesco from our allotment. Finally Cranachan trifle. It all turned out well.
Thanks for all the ideas, I have some haggis left and will use it as pate and also to stuff chicken breasts over the next few days.Downshifted

We ended up haggis beans and chips #classy. Had to stop my husband cooking the haggis in the oven for an hour and a quarter when it will microwave in 9 minutes!0
