Hi,
In need of advise of best way paying for our wedding aboard. They have asked for bank transfer or PayPal but I know they are not covered under section 75.. plus we’ll be changed for sending money overseas as well as the exchange rate. Anyone got any advise on what to do??

I think there are several issues here. Are they asking for a deposit or the whole payment up front? Are you paying a hotel or an individual who is organising this for you? There is a lot of trust involved here.

If you're certain whoever you are paying exists and it's a deposit I suppose it comes down to your attitude to risk. But particularly if you are paying a long time ahead I would be very wary of paying the full cost up front - who knows, they may go out of business in the meantime.

If it's a hotel I would find out if they accept cards - perhaps get a friend to email them and ask. If they do you can contact them and give them card details. If necessary you could offer a couple of per cent extra to cover the card fees.
