Reclaim HSBC PPI

I took out card guard through HSBC from 1998 to around 2015 on their recommendation.I tried to claim PPI for this through HSBC, but it was rejected. I have since read about Plevin and wondered if it was worth trying to make a claim again and if I should make the claim with HSBC or through cardguard? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Card guard is not PPI so I'm not surprised they rejected your complaint.
PLevin is not going to apply either unless you actually paid PPI.

Card guard sounds like protection against theft, loss and fraud, so you might be too late for the provider's redress scheme but any complaints about policies that were active before 2005 can be considered by the bank.0 -
Cardguard send me a letter saying you could try and make a PPI claim if you had taken this out. I just made the claim through the bank rather than directly with them.0
