Hi,
I have had an awful time dealing with my Insurance Company(Churchill), and am totally at my wits end.
I have a burst waste pipe under my kitchen floor (I think thats where it is) and the smell is absolutely disgusting. I first reported the fault 7 weeks ago, and the pipe has still not been repaired.
I eventually received word today that the waste will be drained next Friday, and someone is coming tomortrow to agree a time, to lift the flooring allow access to remove the waste, and sanitise.
My main concern is that i have a young family, and the Insurance Company has made no arrangements for altenative accommodation, whilst the work takes place. The last gentleman we had out said the could be looking at "weeks and maybe months" for the works to be completed.
When i spoke to the Claims Manager today, he advised that the paperwork would take up to three weeks if we found a suitable home.
The work is supposed to start in one week....
I was thinking of moving in with my parents for the duration of the work being done. Does anyone know if the Insurance Company would pay for my upkeep at my Parents, the same way that they would pay for example a B & B?
I think it would be beneficial for my kids (a 4 year old, and a 4 month old baby) not to be totally put out of sorts.
Any advice here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
