Credit file for early settlement

I am currently in a DMP and I told the company I am using that I had contacted my creditors to obtain settlement figures as my family may be in a position to pay these off for me
their reply was
" Thank you for letting us know. We also have our Settlements Team that would be able to help if you wish.
Remember, short settlement of an account will be registered on your credit file as partially satisfied and remain there for 6 years, possibly affecting future applications for serious forms of credit."
Do this sound correct ?

Yes. It will shown as partially settled. However, after a DMP, it makes little difference as long as it is settled.0
